In the summer of 2015 I teamed up with experimental photographer and biochemist Linden Gledhill to create Fe₂O₃ Glyphs - a conceptual, ornamental typeface and accompanying series of unique, one of a kind prints.
Generated using ferrofluid (a kind of magnetic ink) and a centrifuge of rotating magnets, these weird hieroglyphics call to mind at once ancient Aztec markings and the same time alien symbols from science fiction. We had a blast creating a custom, moveable type printing system and the project raised over $50k in pledges on Kickstarter.
Presented here is the .otf file and a single user license for you to use as you wish. The remaining prints will be available soon - the logistics of distributing over a thousand signed and numbered prints put us a little behind but the majority of the prints have now shipped.
